This bracelet is an amazing combination of mystic orange hued Sciacca coral beads in barrel shape and exquisite round blue Kyanite. The name “kyanite” is derived from the Greek word “kyanos,” meaning blue. This unique and rare blue gemstone displays an optical phenomenon called Cat\’s eye in which a movable wavy or silky sheen is concentrated in a narrow band of light that changes its position as you move. Sciacca coral, which is a variety of red coral, technically a fossil and changed through the centuries of underwater volcano activity and interaction with its environment. The colours range, from yellow, orange, subtle salmon colour, towards dark hues of grey, brown and black with interior part still being orange or yellow, and go splendidly with the beautiful blue colour of the kyanite.
Each bead is hand-knotted separately on a blue thread giving this bracelet its unique look. Made to fit perfectly and finished with a combination of 18ct gold ring and our signature white silver lobster clasp. The total length of the bracelet is 19 cm.

Precious coral with an ancient history, Sciacca coral was discovered in abundance in the late 19th century in the bay of Sciacca, Sicily alone. Due to its different colour and form it was considered dead coral. Recent studies revealed Sciacca coral is millennium old fossilized Mediterranean red coral Corallium rubrum. Every time an underwater volcano near Sciacca, Sicily erupted it boiled all the living organisms including red coral. The action of temperature and volcanic mud during thousands of years gave this coral unprecedented shade, from orange to intense salmon, up to black with patches of yellow.
